06316400 CRAZY WOMAN CREEK AT UPPER STATION, NEAR ARVADA, WY
LOCATION - Lat 44°29'28", long 106°10'38" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.07, T.52 N., R.77 W., Johnson County, WY, Hydrologic Unit 10090205, on left bank 1.1 mi upstream from Jewell Draw, 5.0 mi upstream from mouth, and 11 mi south of Arvada.
DRAINAGE AREA - 937 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1963 to September 1970, October 1977 to September 1981, October 2000 to August 5, 2014 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 3,780 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. U.S. Geological Survey data collection platform with satellite telemetry at station.
REMARKS - 10-01-2013 to 08-05-2014: Records good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Diversions for irrigation upstream from station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum peak flow on basis of slope-area indirect measurement.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Water years 1967 to current water year.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: July 2001 to July 9, 2014 (seasonal) (discontinued). WATER TEMPERATURE: July 2001 to July 9, 2014 (seasonal) (discontinued).
INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor for specific conductance and water temperature.
REMARKS - Specific conductance records are excellent except those for October 11-24, October 31 to November 6, April 5-9, 29, 30, June 4-12, and July 2-9, which are good; May 3, which are fair; and May 2-5 and June 23, which are poor. Water temperature records are excellent except those for October 9-24, May 15-19, which are good. Maximum and minimum recorded values in the EXTREMES paragraphs may have occurred during days of partial record and may not appear in the daily values tables. Quality of water data were collected and are available at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/usa/nwis/qw.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Maximum recorded, 5,910 microsiemens per centimeter at 25°C (uS/cm), September 16, 2006; minimum recorded, 296 uS/cm June 11, 2010. WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum recorded, 32.0°C, July 18, 2004; minimum recorded, -0.4°C, March 29, 2007.
