LOCATION - Lat 44°52'18", long 106°04'56" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.36, T.57 N., R.77 W., Sheridan County, WY, Hydrologic Unit 10090206, on right bank 600 ft downstream from Cabin Creek, 1.8 mi upstream from mouth, and 16 mi north of Arvada.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,110 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1309: 1928 (M).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 1915 to April 1919 and April 1928 to May 1929 (no winter records), September 1939 to September 1982, January 2003 to June 30, 2016 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 3,506.51 ft above NGVD of 1929. July 21, 1915 to April 30, 1919, nonrecording gage at same site at different datum. April 15, 1928 to May 26, 1929, nonrecording gage at site 0.2 mi upstream from station at different datum. September 13, 1939 to January 14, 1951, nonrecording gage at present site and datum. U.S. Geological Survey data collection platform with satellite telemetry at station.

Lake De Smet, capacity, 234,987 acre-ft. Diversions for irrigation upstream from station. Diversion 
to Kendrick Canal about 4.5 mi upstream from station.

Apr. 16-24 and Aug. 12 are good; records from Apr. 25, 26 are fair; and records from Apr. 27 to May 3 
are poor.  

10-01-2013 to 11-07-2013 and 03-25-2014 to 09-30-2014: records are excellent, except records from 
Oct. 16-29, Apr. 16-24, May 6-8, July 8, 9, Aug. 6-13, and Sept. 11-16 are good; records from 
May 9, 10 are fair; and records from May 11-16 are poor.

11-28-2015 to 12-22-2016:  records are excellent.

10-01-2014 to 11-06-2014 and 03-30-2015 to 11-27-2015: records are excellent, except records from 
Apr. 12-16 and Apr. 30 to May 6 are good; and records from Apr. 17-21 are fair.

10-01-2013 to 11-07-2013 and 03-25-2014 to 09-30-2014: records are excellent. 

Water-temperature records represent water temperature at sensor within 0.2°C. Maximum and minimum 
recorded values in the EXTREMES paragraphs may have occurred during days of partial record and may 
not appear in the daily values tables.
